Applied monthly as a spot-on solution, selamectin is absorbed through the skin, providing systemic and localized protection. It disrupts parasite nerve transmission by binding to glutamate-gated chloride channels, leading to paralysis and death. Safe for most pets, it may cause mild skin irritation at the application site.
