1.Antineoplastic Effect
Fucoxanthin has inhibiting effect to skin neoplasms, colon neoplasms, hematological malignancy, prostate neoplasms and liver neoplasms.
2.Antioxidation
Fucoxanthin has good antioxidant effect, even better than vitamin E and vitamin C. Fucoxanthin has a protective effect on uv-b induced injury of human fibrocytes. The antioxidant effect of fucoxanthin is mainly by regulating the activity of Na+ -k + -atpase and the activity of catalase and glutathione in tissues and molecules caused by the deficiency of retinol.

Fucoxanthin may play an important role in a variety of inflammatory responses.
